How can it be almost two years since I last wrote on Blogspot!

Well, it has been a very eventful two years, with all grandchildren growing in such beautiful ways, all three children working hard with their spouses to create wonderful homes, and...Tom and I moving to Round Rock!

That is the teaser! More to come later when there is time!

Robert Rankin Jordan

The fun continued ! Brian and Claire pulled the pickup in the trailer back to Austin on Saturday evening. Janey and Bruce were scheduled to leave on Sunday morning and were suppose to go to Brian and Claire's ....and then Brian would take them to the airport.
Early on Sunday morning...the Smiths left our house headed to Austin. About an hour or so later, Brian called and said that they were headed to the hospital......plans changed! Wow!!!

To make this wonderful story short...............Robert Rankin Jordan was born two weeks early, weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and just perfect!

What a joy for all the family!!!

Spring Break 2011

The sequence was amazing! Janey and her family had visited Texas with lots of fun in the preparations for the newest baby in the family, who was coming soon. The baby shower for Claire was hosted by Janey, Julie, the other Claire and Amy....bases on a children's book theme and so beautiful!
The Smith's came to Brownwood for several days of the week and then on the weekend, we were joined by Brian and Claire and part of the Langley family. Brian had come to pick up his "pick up", convincing Claire to come to Brownwood in Anthony's pickup....pulling a trailer. Lots of fun on Saturday, enjoying the kids playing and celebrating the birthdays of Nihl and Lilly with the family.

Christmas Comes Just Once A Year

Christmas 2010 for the Jordan Family reached from Brownwood to Austin to Falls Church, Virginia. Conversations by texts, phone calls and e-mails flew. Tom and I sang in the Lyric's presentation of the "Messiah". Julie started the holidays very sick and so she missed several days of fun...and shopping. However, by Christmas Eve, she was better and made Christmas Day, just fine. Whitney and I had a ball making three kinds of candy and Claire made a most amazing toffee. In Austin, on Christmas Eve, we enjoyed a short time at the Watkins and then the traditional tamales and chili with the Langleys. Brian and Claire cooked a yummy jambalaya dinner one evening and Christmas dinner was a bit different this year. We cooked a ham, instead of the usual "bird".
In Virginia, Janey and Bruce had a busy schedule with the extended Smith Family. Lilly had been to a performance of the Nutcracker and continued to dance through Christmas. Nihl did not feel well for most of the time, but was a "trooper" with all of the coming and going of the days.

It's a Boy!

Coming March 27th, Brian and Claire will welcome a little gentleman into their home and into their hearts. Actually, Little Peanut is already in their hearts and ours as well.

We are anxious to welcome you to the family..

The New York Adventure of Brian and Claire

The two year adventure has involved lots of family, friends and new acquaintances. There is a new band, two soccer teams, concerts, shows, travel and just a wonderful adventure for sure.

Fun in Virginia in the Summer of 2010

Our visits during the summer of 2010 with the Smiths in Virginia, were just great. Nihl is growing so fast, such a cuddly bear.
Lilly is trying on a tiara in a shop in Fredrick, Maryland. Then while there we had a great dinner. Lilly and I always like the bread and butter, for sure. Pop had the best dinner, softshell crab!
The swimming was good at both the Gordon Smith's house and at the Tuckaho Pool.
We celebrated Helen's birthday while we were there.

Rock Port with the Langleys

The Texas coast was at its best when we went to Rock Port and the beach with Julie's family. Such fun, sun, fishing, crabbing, shopping and relaxing.
